About the artist....
Aaron Mc Sweeney is an animator, designer, photographer, painter, researcher and a secondary school art teacher based in Mallow, Co. Cork, Ireland. His practice moves between studio and art classroom, exploring themes such as identity, human anatomy, contemporary culture and visual storytelling. He is interested in how images shape perception and belonging, how people's opinions change through age and stage, and how the creative process can encourage curiosity, reflection, and critical thinking.
He studied Animation and Motion Design at LSAD before completing a Professional Master's in Education there shortly after. Alongside his work, he teaches art with a focus on balancing technical skill development with conceptual exploration and the development of a strong personal voice in students.
In the coming months, he is hoping to have his very first solo exhibition called 'Gods been good with the good old days' where his work will tackle themes such as old age, Parkinson's disease, loss, grief and the current social media epidemic.
